Desserts and Alcohol Discussion

Q Carly and her sister, Miranda, go out to dinner on a Friday night. It had been over a month since the two had seen each other, and they both needed a girls' night out. Carly and Miranda both get salads and iced tea for dinner and sit long into the night catching up with each other. Every once in a while, Carly looks toward the table-tent menu that lists desserts but then refocuses her attention back on her sister. Eventually the two wrap up their conversation and flag down the waiter for a bill. He brings a selection of mini desserts to the table to demonstrate the restaurant's offerings along with a list of dessert drinks. The girls agree to stay a little longer and split a dessert - after all, they all looked so tempting. What is the importance of promoting desserts and alcoholic beverages in the way this restaurant did? Explain a recent dining experience where the staff did/did not promote these items and how it influenced your decision to purchase or not purchase a dessert/beverage

Sometimes it is essential for the restaurants to show the real items to the consumers in order to tempt them or promote their products. Without the waiter not bringing in and demonstrating the offerings along with the list of dessert drinks, Carly and Miranda would have never stayed back longer or ordered some more of it. Even if they have split one dessert into two but still it means profit for another dish from the restaurant’s perspectives. In majority of cases, direct approach and explanation of the products help to fetch more consumers and in this situation desserts and alcohol were the products that Carly and Miranda bought ultimately after feeling satisfied with the demonstration and offer.
